Metz, France

My son's family took me on a European road trip through 9 European countries, including France.  One of the cities that we visited in France was Metz.  My very favorite part of Metz is the Metz Cathedral, a Catholic cathedral which has been nicknamed la Lanterne du Bon Dieu, or "The Good Lord's Lantern."  The Metz Cathedral is dedicated to Saint Stephen and was built over many centuries, and then rebuilt after a fire.  

The beautiful colors that shine through the stained glass windows rivals those of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.  It is truly beautiful inside the Cathedral!  The Cathedral's official website is here:

This rose window was created in 1384 by Hermann of Munster.
