Paris France Temple
If you are a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, you won't want to miss visiting the Paris France temple if you are visiting Paris. And if you aren't a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, you won't be able to go inside, but can enjoy the beautiful temple grounds, whether it's during the summer or the winter.
The Paris France temple is located at 46 Boulevard Saint Antoine, 78150 Le Chesnay, France. It was dedicated in 2017. I went to the Paris temple for the first time in November of 2024. It had just snowed that day - something that they seemed to not be used to, since they didn't shovel it except in small areas and not a direct path. We stayed in temple housing, which is right next to the temple and shares the same covered parking garage. The first night we were there I tried to go outside to take photos of the temple, but I was stopped by a security guard. He didn't want me to slip on the snow and insisted that I come back inside. If I'd known how to speak French I could have told the security guard that snow is the norm back home, and there was no need to be so worried.
Patron housing is a great deal if you are attending the temple in Paris. You can reserve housing by calling the temple directly. It is meant to be for members of the stakes in the temple district, so they will probably not allow you to reserve housing until a couple weeks before you need it. It only costs about forty euro a night for a room. The rooms have bunkbeds, a table and chairs, and lockers/cabinets to keep clothes in. They give you new sheets and towels, and each patron staying there needs to clean up their room in the morning. Check out is at nine, so if your temple appointment is later there are common areas to hang out in the housing that aren't the individual rooms.
My daughter and I went back to visit the Paris Temple in March of 2025. It was fun to see it when it wasn't covered with snow. The temple is within walking distance of the Palace of Versailles -- about a half hour walk that is really fun in pleasant weather.
